Emerald - SU OC

(Prepare for a long rant: )
About a month or less ago, just as I was starting to watch "Steven Universe", I had this dream in which I was a Gem and I became very close friends with Garnet. To my greatest pleasure, I managed to completely copy her from that dream. (Well, not the colors, cause she was more yellow green that Colombian Emerald color... )
Thanks to KyuubiCore I brainstormed a lot during the past few days, and I managed to create a background story for her. Dunno if I should spill the beans yet.
Anyway, back to her design: I still need to work a bit more on her reference sheet, but this is the base for now. And to explain that design on the far right.... Gahh. Looks like I'll have to tell the whole story.
So I had this idea (I swear I will find a way to copyright this, so if you seal it, I will hunt you down and point out what you did for the whole internet to see. And don't think I won't have backup) that this particular Emerald could be a gift from Yellow Diamond to Blue Diamond. I read about the gems a lot, and I know most stuff doesn't really fit with other characters, but everything I found out about this one completely went along great with the dream I had (like KyuubiCore said, I had a vision ), so I decided to stick with that. Having said that, Emerald will be one of the highest ranking Gems after the Diamonds. Also, I read that Colombian Emeralds are the most valued ones, and their trademark feature is this particular color. And with the backstory of Yellow giving her to Blue, it fits. Also, all of this should explain that "princess-y" look on the right.
As for her main look - the story goes like this: when the war started, she tried going to Earth to sort things out with the Rebellion and try to lessen the damage and number of victims the war would take. However, her vessel broke in an accident and it fell to Earth, leaving her in a comatose state for thousands of years. Nobody knew there were survivors, and in the heat of the war, no one cared to check out what happened to her and wrote her off as missing. In the era that the main timeline of "Steven Universe" follows, the Crystal Gems find her vessel and free her. However, she was still in the conviction that the Rebellion was ongoing, and learning what happened deeply traumatized her...
Things didn't stay that way though. Earth grew on her, and soon she decided she would stay and protect the world with the rest...
Her ripped dress and lack of ornamentation is something she decided to keep as a symbol of throwing away the high rank that was bestowed upon her on the Homeworld. Now she lives to breathe in life into the greenery of Earth, which turned out to be her only and previously unknown power (a.k.a. she doesn't wield a weapon). This goes with the fact that Emeralds are quite breakable Gems, and that's why I decided to turn her into a pampered princess that was always taken care of back in the Homeworld. Having said this, it explains why she looks up to Garnet so much and wants to be around her.
Since many would think that her life on 'high-heels' affected her, I have to bring up the fact that Emerald was never a snob. Even back on the Homeworld she never treated anyone badly and many Gems were drawn to her because of this. Although, only on Earth did she truly realize that harmony was something her spirit was always looking for - within oneself as well as harmony among others and the world. She has a natural happy-go-lucky approach to life and tries her best to mingle with all of the Gems. You can guess that she works great alongside Lapis, or that she has a particularly positive influence on Peridot (since she was above her)... However, Fusion is not something that comes completely natural to her. She isn't incapable of doing it either... but a lot of other important things are needed to happen first before she can do that, with particular Gems from the group respectively.

.... I think this sums up pretty much all there is to know about her.

Dunno if I'll continue to work on all of this; SU has been a great inspiration lately, so I will probably continue to draw from that well for some time... But you never know when there will be a turn of tides for me. XD Just in the last two months I jumped from one fandom to the next - "Rise of the Guardians" > "World of Warcraft" > "Overwatch" and now > "Steven Universe". So expect anything from me in time to come. XD
